Dental Assisting 1 Schedule

Computers and internet access will be required for academic online learning(Monday – Friday), as well as basic computer skills. Clinical applications will be held either on a Wednesday evening 6:00 pm – 10:00pm or Thursdays evening 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm, on school campus.

Computers and internet access will be required for academic online learning, as well as basic computer skills. Clinical applications will be held on campus Fridays from 3:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

NC Dental Radiology Equivalency – Challenge Exam

A certified dental assistant [(one who successfully completes the DANB exam (the complete CDA exam] or an assistant who completes an ADA-accredited dental assisting or dental hygiene program may take radiographs without further examination. All others, including those who move to North Carolina from out-of-state, must successfully pass an equivalency exam. This exam may be challenged after completing “seven hours of instruction in the production and use of dental x-rays and an education program of not less than seven hours in clinical dental radiology.” You must be able to prove that you have the minimal amount of training to be eligible to take the radiology equivalency exam. Any Board approved radiography course is acceptable and any approved course’s final examination is recognized as the equivalency exam.

Challenge Exam Includes:

North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners approved Dental Radiology exam.

Certificate will be awarded to those who pass the exam with 80% or above.

**Cost of course: $100.00 We require a $100.00 deposit to hold your exam date.

Exam date will be set up by staff when registration is complete
