X-Ray Courses Schedule

The Dental X-Ray course at Lake Norman Dental Assisting School consists of seven hours of instruction in the production and use of dental X-rays, seven hours of clinical X-ray instruction, and a North Carolina State Board of Examiners approved Dental Radiology Exam. A radiology certificate of compliance with the G.S.90-29c(12) will be awarded to those who attend all 14 hours of instruction and pass the Dental Radiology written exam.

Radiology courses are held on Fridays & Saturdays; students are required to attend both days. Applicants must have one year of experience to attend.

Dental Radiography Course Description

Our weekend radiology course includes:

  • Seven hours of instruction in the health, safety, production and use of dental radiographs.
  • Seven hours of clinical applications, taking and developing the radiograph in the traditional techniques.
  • Digital radiography is discussed during lecture and is not practiced in clinical applications in this course.
  • We are approved by the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners for the Dental Radiology exam.
  • Certification of achievement will be awarded to those who attend all 14 hours of instruction and pass the radiology exam.
  • The total cost for the course is $600, and we require a $300 deposit to hold your spot.
  • Our course is held on Friday and Saturday from 9 a.m. through 5 p.m. with an hour lunch.

Requirements for Course:

You must be a high school or GED graduate and must hold the title of DA1, DA2, or CDA:

   DA1 = One year of dental clinical experience
   DA2 = Two or more years of dental clinical experience
   CDA = Certified Dental Assistant, has passed the dental assisting national board exam
